This app will allow the user to monitor the latest Bitcoin price, polling Blockchain.info's Api at rates of 1,2,3...60 minute intervals.In addition, the user can set 1 upper and 1 lower trigger point.The App can be set,either to simply display the latest price OR can be configured to utiliseyour phone's inbuilt speech processing to speak the current Price after each poll, OR that a price trigger level has been reached or breached.This app, might be of use to anyone with an interest in the Current price of Bitcoin, but who does not wishto keep interacting with their phone.
I developed this app because I have an interest in Bitcoin, but don't want to have to keep interacting with my main mobile to get the current price.
You can set it up to provide hourly price alerts, then use your phone's inbuilt sleep wakefunction to shut it down during the evening, or leave the thing chatting to itself in the study if the volume is low.
Keep the screen unlocked and you can probably use 'OK Google' to lower the volume before heading off to bed.
The app will of course also run on your main Android phone, if you don't happen to have a spare Android.
Operation should be largely self explanatory.
Simply download and install the app and configure the appropriate alarm settings.
The app will either, simply display the current price. In addition, the user can select that the device read out, (using your phones voice capabilities)the latest price obtained from Blockchain.info at pre determined intervals starting from 1 - 10 minutes, 20, 30, 45 up to 1 hr apart.There is a limit to how often the app is allowed to Poll blockchain.info, once per minute is the maximumfrequency this app will allow..
In addition, the user can select that trigger points can be set (currently) up to 10% away from the current price.
Possible future upgrades might include the ability to ...
allow any trigger point to be set.support for other exchanges and currencies.recording max and min values reached whilst in operation in case you missed the price alert,Change the BTC Price container to a label rather than a text box so it can't be accidentally changed.
Feedback and feature requests are welcome which 'may' be incorporated in a future upgrade.
This basic version is offered Free.
